Tranny shifts at the wrong time, generally drive like crap. You can relocate the VSS to the driveshaft.I think LeDuc sells the kit.
Tranny shifts erratically. Ive heard it can cause damage in the long run, but?? What are you using for a speedometer? I'm assuming this is regarding the Blanco 9" swap?

Depends on your year model. Like mine does not control the tranny at all. Mine is just for the brakes. :awesome_dude:

the 90 doesnt need it for anything but the anti lockbrakes....so unplug it if you want.
only becomes important in 92 and later since it tells ya how fast you are going.

You sure Tom he has the E40D and not the AOD... Mine has a C6 so I know mine is not effected....

Well my trans does shift kinda funny.....
Not bad really & its not consistant..
Yes I do realize that the '90 VSS only affects the ABS & that why I had no issues swaping in the 9"
But I'm :humm_smilie: wondering, about when I had the trans rebuilt & the Up-Grades I had done.....
such as later E-4OD up-dates...:6:
If they installed the later model stuff into the earlier trans might this become an issue?
The trans dont seem so Bad, but does seem to shift funny..
mostly 1st to 2nd gear seems to drag out a bit & then kinda slam....
But when I take off the OD it seems to behave better?
I was told that he installed a shift kit in my trans But when we talked about it back then I wondered about how he was acting while talking about it?
I know shift kits will rev higher then Shift much harder than a stock trans...
so I'm wondering...... Its it the later model up-dates?
or a shift kit?
or a bad rebuild or???????
The trans seemed to be slipping during the Pre-Run at Primm.
or was it just tire spins in the soft stuff.....
I wish there was a local Hot Rod Tranny shop around here with a great rep that I could go to.....
I find it tough to trust most tranny shops..

But I'm :humm_smilie: wondering, about when I had the trans rebuilt & the Up-Grades I had done.....
such as later E-4OD up-dates...:6: All the up grades to it should hard pieces and not the electronic... Usually the lower gear like 1st gear...
If they installed the later model stuff into the earlier trans might this become an issue? Naw that shouldn't be the problem...

Actually shifts kit make fast shifts with little slip between gears and that is why they shift harder. The more slip means smoother shift and lets it slide into gear...

The pre92 E4OD FSB will have the VSS, but it is at the TCASE. As mentioned, the diff only addresses the RABS on the pre92 rigs.

Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction
What does that mean?Basically this means that the vehicle's speed as read by the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is not working properly.
SymptomsSymptoms may include:
loss of anti-lock brakes
the "anti-lock" or "brake" warning lamps on the dash may be lit
the speedometer or odometer may not work properly (or at all)
your vehicle's RPM limiter may be decreased
the shifting of an automatic transmission may become erratic
other symptoms may also be present
Possible SolutionsThe simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.
Next, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the speed sensor.
If the wiring and connectors are OK, then check the voltage at the speed sensor.
If everything looks OK, replace the sensor.
