took the plugs out of the OJB tonight.
All of them looked just like they were new EXCEPT the drivers side rear most plug. I wouldn't say it was BAD, but it was definately a brownish-redish-greyish color...that was way darker than any other plug.

So I thought I would do a complete diagnostic on the current state of the engine....compression test, check timing, clean filter, install new fuel filter.
took so long to locate the tools, I got to do it tommorrow night.

anything else I ought ot look at in that clyinder?

Poor milage and a misfire along with some hesitation started my quest for issues.

From what I understand a like Whiteish/tan color is what you should have for a healthy Plug...
White is lean...

So if most of your plugs look white ( new ) you might have a lean issue.

Did you take any pics of them in MACRO mode?

Macro will let you get extremely close & remain in focus.

I did take photos...but not in MACRO...didn't know about that...

Im not a photographer so I wasn't aware..will do as they are out of the rig right now.

Lean then....maybe check the fuel filter as I have a hes

it

ation... that I thought was a major misfire.....

Thanks...

well I did take photos and then lost them? dont recall the folder they are in...damn!

anyway...timing is right on at 10* DTC
compression is even across all clyinders
plugs are gapped at the max. .046 with stock coil.
air filter was plugged so I changed it out with paper filter. oil the K&N later.

discovered a small coolant leak that gathers at the bottom of the engine where the trans meets the oil pan? where does it start????? dont know cant see it.

also...I gotta track down a loud squeal that is at start up...but not all the time..either the alt or the air pump. disappeared when I restarted the engine.

Didn't change the fuel filter yet.

still runs like it has a misfire...

all I wanted to do is check the plugs condition.....
