Like most, I can't afford $500-$1000 per light for off-road lights; however, I would like to find the best alternative at the best price, preferrably in an 8" or 9" size. I've been looking at Hella's, KC's, Soltek, etc. Any of you desert guys have any good sources and/or information for lighting? Any tips/help would be appreciated.

......and since I'm planning to just run 3 light on the front bumper, which pattern would be the best. One guy I spoke with suggested just using the pencil beams because they project farther and are strong enough to light up a sizeable area.

when i had my f150 i was gonna run 3 lights as well but i was gonna try pencil beam in the middle and fog beams on the outside, i figured that the pencil beam would project far enough to see whats commin and the others would light up every thing else around and in between the pencil. as far as a cheap h.i.d alternative, im in the in same boat as you i want a good light for a better price
