gmc trans case help

Can someone tell me what kind of trans case this is, and what other ones will bolt up to my truck with NO mod's 85 k15 sm465

Was pulling small trees out of the ground today and on the third one this happend

from the tag it looks like a New process 208

Yep right on xj its a new process 208 chain driven unit with a rear slip yoke with passenger side front output for the gmc. I 've got some ford one's lying around however i do not have any gmc ones about sorry man by the way you did good i've never seen a 208 busted like that before could've been a bad casting when you get it out send pics of the fractur to look at to see.:cooool: :cheers:

Im just glad it happened in my yard and not in a mud pit somewhere!!!! Undid speedo cable and it fell to the ground. Called all my friends to come look at it, they all got a good laugh.. Fugers!! Now i need to find some thing to bolt back in, but i dont know what i should be looking for! What is the differance between 205,203,208,2...???

What is the differance between 205,203,208,2...???


Stick with the NP 208 they are good cases.

NP 205 is the strongest factory produced case. All gear drive.

NP 203 is common chain driven case and is heavy as hell...

I picked up a 208 but it had a 350t bolted to it will it still bolt up to my sm465 it came with some sort of spacer ???
