Just wondering?
& what types of Fuel Injection did they run at what years?
I think they switched to Mass Air in '95..
& did they run a different F.I. before the Speed density system? :6:

The 302 was the first engine to receive electronic fuel-injection, starting in the 1985 model year. ... By 1988 all Broncos were EFI ... i think it was all EFI i think maybe CFI was an option but not that i remember.. hope that helps

I am surprised to see you jump out there with these answers.
Yeah, CFI was that Carb looking one right, it sat on an typical carb intake manifold right?
The '86 Mustang came with that CRAP.
So what year did they swap away with the CFI to the style we have on my '90?

well i would imagine that by 87 they swapped in EFI's and just continued to work out the bugs to make it work.
i dont remember many motors after 87 by Ford that ran a carb.

Not much ... i just like Hot Rods and good muscle.
I had a very interesting relationship with a red 66 Thunderbird 2 door Convert w/ a 428 in it. It was a Love Hate Relationship, I loved it, It Tried to kill me one night and drove straight off the road into a local creek.
Also I owned a 47 Olds w/ a 425 that caught fire and burned to the ground the day after I purchased it in a Piggly Wiggly Parking lot (A Southern Super Market Chain)

Funny thing about those T-birds Great cars to drive (Had a 63) But a nightmare to work on. I lost many a tool in around that car...
ON the EFI I recall that they started with EFI in 89 on the 351 and had it more or less perfected by 91. By the way I heard that was a NASA design.

My 88 has EFI and sure that 87 did to. All yall had to do is Google it....
1980-1986
There was a major redesign of the model in 1980 (the 1980 model was based on the redesigned Ford F-Series; this generation lasted until 1986 with no sheetmetal changes, mostly powertrain and chassis related). The new Bronco was shorter, and had cosmetic changes along with powertrain, suspension and other odds and ends. Most notably, the Ford Bronco had a TTB (twin traction beam) setup in the front end for an independent front suspension.
With a smaller Bronco and fuel economy in mind, Ford offered a 300 cubic inch straight six as the base engine. Although this engine came with more torque than the V-configuration 302, the engine's true potential was crippled by a 1-bbl carburetor and restrictive single-out exhaust manifolds. Electronic emissions equipment added in 1984 further restricted the power of the inline six. Ford used up their remaining stock of 351M engines before switching over to the 351W in mid-model year 1982. A "High Output" version of the 351W became an option in 1984 and continued into the 1987 model year. Output was 210 hp at 4000 rpm vs the standard 2-bbl 351W which made 156 hp at 4000 rpm.[3] The 302 was the first engine to receive electronic fuel-injection, starting in the 1985 model year.
Cosmetically, Ford returned to using its "blue oval" logo on the front grille, and removed the "F O R D" letters from the hood in 1982.[4] Towards the mid-80's, an Eddie Bauer edition Bronco was offered, with a tan interior and tan outside trim. Classic square mirrors were dropped in
1987-1991
In 1987, the body and drivetrain of the fullsize Bronco changed, as it was still based on the F-Series. The new aero body style reflected a larger redesign of many Ford vehicles for the new model year. By 1988, all Broncos were being sold with electronic fuel injection (first introduced in 1985 with the 302). In 1991, a special Silver 25th Anniversary Edition was sold featuring a gray leather interior. All Broncos were built at the Michigan Truck Plant in Wayne, Michigan on the same line as the F-150.

The whole story on the Bronco is a good read. I recommend it. Here is the link...

Trucks never ran CFI, only Ford cars with automatics.
The 86 Mustang was the first Mustang with full SEFI, not CFI.
CFI died in the Mustang in 85.
87.5 was when the 351W gained EFI in trucks
88 was when the 300 gained it.
The last American Ford to have a carb was the 1991 Crown Victoria with the 351W engine.

If you ask the parts guys EFI didn't come on the 460 until '89, but pop the hood and there it is. :humm_smilie:
LMAO, Well, tall or long? Or heaviest? Our Green C350 tips the scales at 8,040lbs no passengers, 1/2 tank of fuel and third seat out. Should be about 8,350lbs full of fuel and seat in. That is before some of the other goodies we have been adding too.
They did make duallies

But I still think the chevys longer? (I dont think centurians ever came in long bed form did they?)
Not that, thats a good thing.
& I do know that it a 100% factory release. :)

Your crew cab could be heavier, the only reason I would say it isn't is because it is a chevy. Ford crew cab dually would be heavier.
Centurion was bought from the Ford dealer, and was ordered from ford, but not built in the ford factory.
Nope no long box version. We were thinking of adding 18" extended cab portion, or even another set of doors, just because we can. LOL
Audra is the good one at details. When she gets done with school she will be able to keep up on all of these threads.
