Ok, lookin for ideas...

Problem: at idel, warm engine, in P or N I can only get the bronco (79) to get up to 3,700 RPM. In a drive gear, im only able to get it at 3,000 RPM. (current shift point)
And this REALLY sucks on driving!, 60 MPH I'll be @ about 2,500 or 2,600 RPM. my max (on flat ground) it 68MPH @ 3000 RPM

so I got to talkin with Kurt (dales dad) and I could be a tooth off on my dist. but young stupid me would have thought that the vacuum advance would compansate for the tooth off......

and side note I rebuilt the carb, still dose the same old thing...

ok, lets start off on a clean slate, where the hell do I begin to diagnose this problem? :8:

sounds like timing might be 180* out, also check the coil, plug wires, plugs, might be way way rich or way too lean pull a plug or 2 and see

Check your dstributor gear. Mine broke the pin and didn't notice it till I changed the timing chain. But my gear was spinning on the shaft slowing messing up the timing
