Wich tranny??

I have a TH350 with shift kit and recently rebuild but a friend of mine is willin to give me his TH700, so whats better, isnt the 700 a bit slower when running from idle.

depends what you are using it for.

TH350 is a non overdrive tranny so usually they are used behind a trail queen.

700R4 is an overdrive tranny so it's freeway friendly and it's got a much lower 1st gear.

TH350(non O/D) & 700R4(O/D) are pretty much equal in strength excepts the overdrive would be the weak link in the 700R4

TH350(non O/D) & 700R4(O/D) are the more 3/4 ton type GM Auto's.

TH400(non O/D) & 4L80E(O/D) are the more 1 ton type GM Auto's.

700R4 every time for anything street driven.
Overdrive will pay for itself in gas milage.
