I got this car about 3 years ago as a "rescue" from my aunt. She was the original driver and put 214,000 on her before giving her to me. When I First got the car the engine smoked bad on startup and again if I went over 4K RPMs with the motor. I got anther 3K out of the motor before the oil control rings finally completely gave out. I pulled the motor but not before going on one last "horrah" witht he original motor. Basically I filled up the oil pan fired her up and went around the block at 1 AM with a massive smokescreen billowing behind me. Even with so much oil entering the combustion chambers she still pulled great and was a blast. Once I entered the street my place was at the oil buzzer sounded signalling the oil pan only had 2 quarts left. When I parked her she had a massive ammout of oil dripping out of the exhaust pipes.

I pulled that motor and put it aside thinking I would rebuild it for the MG and swap it in. Still a slight possibility but unlikely. Anyways I swapped in a motor that only had 100,000 miles on it and still had good compression. Once in and the fuel fed into the correct lines she started on the first rev of the starter. That motor had some good pull but not as much as the original. With the original I was able to stomp an acura integra but the new one couldn't quite catch those. But it did take out a 5.0 95 mustang, but at a price. Two days later a water seal broke and she started blowing steam. Since then she has sat. Likely a rotor and housing is toast by now but I do have that other motor still. Anyways that is where that car sits. In the meantime here are some pics:

It is clean but I gotta get the motor pulled and start rebuilding it. Again no V8s in this one either. THis car is in almost perfect original shape and I don't want to ruin that. At most I may just do a minor street port to get a couple more horse out of it.

put a V8 in it...
NO! That would totally destroy the point of the car!
Rotary eXperiment 7.
That's like putting a V8 in an SVO.

I love those things, so so much. Almost bought a 1990 in worse shape than the B2 for almost the same price once. Alas, I have a B2 instead now.

Hope you find a way to get it back on the road soon.... with a full bridge port!

No I just want the ultimate oxymoron, a reliable rotary. I know I know...

Like I said I'm thinking about doing a minor street port, a bridgeport would be too much four the sideplates. Plus I like a sleeper. Something that looks nice but not loud and powerful sounding. That Brap! Brap! would clue anyone off to what is in the engine compartment. Plus I still want to be able to legally smog it.

screw smog just pour a bunch of acetone in the gas when you get smog tested

Perhaps with your next rotary you'l opt for the bridgeport. :17:

Scarry thing is I could if I opt to put a rotary in the MG. But I think that would scare the hell outta me. I have already seen a bridgeported 450 RWHP 2nd gen (Same car as mine) and that thing was scarry quick.

I think an earlier rotary engine is pictured, but you'll get the idea.

Wow, they take a lot of meat out of that port.

Hence why I don't want to do it! I like thing that don't go boom on me. I already break enough crap I don't need to be giving it any more help.

If you ever want to trade it for a Bronco II, let me know...

I know, I know... :slap2:

Well this project is done and over with She was sold off to become a "shopcar" kind of a rolling business card for a new upstart shop. Looks like a piece of one of the "Irons" the plates that separate the chambers broke it's lip off which allowed coolant to get into the combustion chambers. But that aside looks like she will be rebuilt and back on the road soon.
