Well the bronco has brakes! woohoo! lol :D The calipers were froze, the rears weren't even adjusted right...not sure how the bronco was stopping at all...Anyway, we got new calipers, still didnt work, wasn't getting any fluid. So we put in a new master cylinder...still not getting fluid...so John ordered a new proportioning valve from Ford. And that was the problem. The used one was no good. We put that in last night and bled the system...and she works!! hehe
Next week she's going to his friends shop for new leaf springs...pass. side rear they are bowing upwards and driver side rear, the top leaf is bowing up, the next one is broke, the one below that is craked and the one below that is missing half the leaf...no wonder it drives goofy. So for a grand total of $400 for NEW leaf springs and labor, she'll be good to go. I was going to use the ones from the '89, but with the beating they got over the years and the fact that the new ones are only $125 each...we're going new.
Next project after that will be some body work, gotta cut off fenders (as they are rusted through) and I'm going to get the rubber fender flares for her, and do a flat black paint job. Hopefully I can talk dad into making a set of sliders for her as well this summer. And if he's not too busy, I want to get new bumpers for the bronco as well.
But, right now, I'm just glad she STOPS!
