*was being nice* ... u would flex better in the rear if u yank that Sway off

i know, i know, but it's my DD, i should get some disco's for it, easy on, easy off
i'll try it again without it tomorrow.

nah... just yank it completely off, should be much differance ...... i took the one off the BII and never noticed a differance in the rear...... to me she actualy handles better with it off then it did on.....
97F250HD Dude
06-28-2006, 11:33 PM
what is the actual point of it anyway? that is one thing i never really understood.

Their purpose in life is to try to keep the car's body from "rolling" in a sharp turn.
but in my opinion your more likely to roll with the bar eliminating the roll then youre with out the bar and not work as hard to regain control..... although with out the bar u have to work harder to regain control but less likely to go over....

ok, i'll yank it tomorrow and see how it does. i finally get to go wheeling saturday,i'll see how it does then too.

well just undo the frame bolts first, drive it around under normal driving (and maybe a bit agressive) to see how it handles for u .. if it works well for u then completely yank or put it back on ... whatever....

yeah thats what i meant to say.

hmmm intresting, then u should get a decent amount of flex then, maybe it has something to do with the WheelBase lenght?
97F250HD Dude
06-29-2006, 10:19 AM
who knows...i'll try messing around with it some more in a little bit.

Could aslo need longer shocks.........

i just measured with it on and off and it's about a 3/4" difference
8" with it off, 7 1/4" on. from tire to fender

Exactly what i was going to say.Your stock shocks are most likely the limiting factor here.
97F250HD Dude
06-29-2006, 09:49 PM
well the tire wasnt off the ground when i did that so the shock still has some length in it. i'm going wheelin saturday and i'll take some pics of it really trying to flex

Maybe its because those ramps arent big enought, go flex it in a ditch or something that will make the suspension work.. Later Mike

New shocks made a huge difference on the yota I had. I was blown away! The ride was much better and alot more flex. I guess the flex springs helped too but that is beside the point! LOL
