Well it seems Chris(90Beater) was out Wheeling with Red Wagon up @ Rowher Flats ( Nothing Flat @ this Place  ) on Sat.

& chris developed a little problem or two going up this one hill..
I dont remember all the details as to how this all started but the bad part was as he was comming down this long steep hill, He discovered he had NO BRAKES!!

He got lucky, That he did'nt continue down the steep mountain side possibly tumbling for a long time until he reached the bottom.

He came to a stop only a few feet off the trail Snapping his front axle in 2 while he was at it.

It was a Clean brake.
Let me show you how it went. :)

The recovery team!
Macho Nacho , Red Wagon & myself were the only ones that brought our 4x4's
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402676/fullsize/img_7130.jpg
Well thats not entirely correct Matt did bring his, but Its brand new & its a 4 door long bed with the long chrome running boards..

So it did'nt seem like the best idea to take his through the trail.
Clarko for some reason left his Bronco @ home & brought his Moms Mustang ( SAWEEEEET car, But no help for this Beater extraction :6: )

So Matt Rode with me & Clarko Rode with MachoNacho.

Anyways so we get to the spot & tried to simply winch The Beaten Beater out...
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402677/fullsize/img_7131.jpg
:nono: Its not gonna be that easy......

http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402679/fullsize/img_7133.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403291/fullsize/img_7137.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402680/fullsize/img_7134.jpg

Now lets get a closer look at the damage. :humm_smilie:
Front drivers side tire.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402692/fullsize/img_7135.jpg
That tire aint gonna roll very well so we had to change it..
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402704/fullsize/img_7140.jpg
Nice rim eh.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402707/fullsize/img_7143.jpg
once the tire was changed it came out much easier.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402717/fullsize/img_7153.jpg
& that when we were able to get a better look at the Carnage.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402750/fullsize/img_7159.jpg

Truly beaten.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402749/fullsize/img_7158.jpg

http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402752/fullsize/img_7161.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402753/fullsize/img_7162.jpg

This is the hill he came down ...
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402754/fullsize/img_7165.jpg

I'm not sure why Low Range or the e-brake etc did'nt work..( I did'nt really ask to many details. at this point I suppose it did'nt matter anymore.)

http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402755/fullsize/img_7166.jpg

OK then we Brake out what ever supplies we brought. Now lets figure out how were gonna do this? :6:

Big Rachet strap were what we used to suspend the Suspension up.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402758/fullsize/img_7170.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402761/fullsize/img_7172.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402760/fullsize/img_7171.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402762/fullsize/img_7173.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402771/fullsize/img_7177.jpg
Seems like this might just work.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402763/fullsize/img_7175.jpg

So with Tim( Red Wagon ) as the tow'er & Raf( MachoNacho ) as the Brakes we headed out.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402775/fullsize/img_7181.jpg
& it was working pretty damn good! :pianodance:
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402832/fullsize/img_7184.jpg

For a little while. :eusa_doh:
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402834/fullsize/img_7186.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402839/fullsize/img_7187.jpg

Got it re-tied up & went for it again..
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402842/fullsize/img_7191.jpg
At this point things wer'nt going as smoothly as before..:o
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402854/fullsize/img_7195.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402855/fullsize/img_7196.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402856/fullsize/img_7197.jpg

At this point things were starting to fall off the Bronco along the trail..
1st we picked up a front drive shaft...:HistericalSmiley:

& here in this pic the Bronco started kinda going in it own direction so we had to stop & mess with that for a while...
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402926/fullsize/img_7202.jpg
At this point Tim was trying to muscle it over with his bronco , But that was'nt working ....
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402943/fullsize/img_7209.jpg

So once again it was un hooked ...
I wonder why it was'nt tracking? :6:
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402944/fullsize/img_7210.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402957/fullsize/img_7211.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402960/fullsize/img_7214.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402959/fullsize/img_7213.jpg

It had to winched back the the center of the trail.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402961/fullsize/img_7215.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402985/fullsize/img_7219.jpg

Ok lets strap it back up & try this again.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/402986/fullsize/img_7221.jpg
& for those wondering...
Yes the Coil springs was the next part that fell off. :HistericalSmiley:
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403005/fullsize/img_7224.jpg

http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403004/fullsize/img_7222.jpg

Ok lets stop & try to fix it up again...
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403006/fullsize/img_7225.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403007/fullsize/img_7226.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403008/fullsize/img_7227.jpg

So we moved on ward!
& then it go really interesting..
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403020/fullsize/img_7232.jpg
Hey whats that about half way under the bronco!
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403021/fullsize/img_7233.jpg

Watch this video clip & watch the Bronco get drag past these trees.
http://www.supermotors.net/vehicles/registry/media/403255

At this point it was time to remove the driver side of the axle from under there. ( Heck we had plenty of room to work with! :HistericalSmiley: )
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403096/fullsize/img_7252.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403100/fullsize/img_7259.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403148/fullsize/img_7261.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403149/fullsize/img_7262.jpg

We were so close at this point maybe 100 more yards & we be up to the Trailer! :)
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403151/fullsize/img_7264.jpg

I really need to go put a coat of Primer On my bathroom walls so I can finish painting it....http://bestsmileys.com/working/6.gif

Cool pics and Vid! I talked to Chris on Saturday evening and he was pretty shook up, but he said not to come up even though I offered... I didn't have a 4X4 truck to be of much help. He said that he was going up that bigass hill (where B-Man just about lost his tranny last time) and heard a "clunk" and lost his front axle drive (no 4X4) and started overheating. It was about 100+ degrees this weekend as you know, and RedWagon and Chris stopped at the top for abit to let it cool off. After it cooled off, with no 4X4, they were saying f'it and heading out. That's when he started inching down the hill and "pump-pump, oh crap no brakes!" About 2/3 of the way down the hill there's a bump which in turn turned into a jump! They said he was going about 40mph when he hit it and had he gone left or right woulda rolled, so he went head on. Sounds like the Dukes of Hazzard as I guess he got about 8 feet of air and went about 60 feet before landing, stopping short about 3 feet from going down the other 1000 feet due to the axle stopping it by digging into a dirt pile. All within a matter of a few seconds...

Part II

I want a short break from painting so I figured I'd post more Pics..:)

Ok at the point most of what was going to break off already had..

http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403152/fullsize/img_7265.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403153/fullsize/img_7266.jpg

http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403155/fullsize/img_7269.jpg

http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403164/fullsize/img_7271.jpg

So with only about 100 yards left to go the pushed hard & got it up the last hill.
The front end parts were too Big to fit in my Sammy being it was stuffed with supplys, I attached it to the back of Nachos rig..
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403166/fullsize/img_7273.jpg

:13_4_1v: We made it! :pianodance:
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403168/fullsize/img_7275.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403171/fullsize/img_7277.jpg

& the the fun of loading & unloading it ...
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403177/fullsize/img_7283.jpg

After pondering it a moment it seemed easier to just back it onto the trailer.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403182/fullsize/img_7288.jpg

& onward to chris place.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403188/fullsize/img_7294.jpg

Oh this part was fun.. We tried a few different ideas...
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403191/fullsize/img_7298.jpg
Here Tim swaped side of the garage & then I jumped in his tow rig to pull the trailer out from under the Bronco.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403192/fullsize/img_7299.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403193/fullsize/img_7301.jpg
Almost there. Popped another tire comming off the trailer.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403196/fullsize/img_7304.jpg
Then we tried using my Sammy as anchor point to yank the bronco further into the driveway.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403198/fullsize/img_7306.jpg
I did'nt think it would work being my sammy only weighs 2000 lbs.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403202/fullsize/img_7310.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403203/fullsize/img_7311.jpg
I move ( somewhat Bouncing ) further in the driveway then The Beater did. :HistericalSmiley:
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403200/fullsize/img_7308.jpg

When that did'nt work we brought in Matts BIG F250.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403204/fullsize/img_7314.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/403207/fullsize/img_7317.jpg
Strangely enough That worked out better than my Sammy. :6:

But at the end it still was sticking over the side walk So I held a Tire between The front of RedWagons Front Bumper & The Beatens Rear bumper & he just Pushed it in! http://bestsmileys.com/clapping/1.gif

I can't believe this happened. This is like a bad!!!!!!!!!! dream that won't go away. That's got to be the worst i've seen go wrong on a trail or even on road for that matter. glad you guys worked together and got it home.

Well Chris I think I have a matching rim for ya, I also have a stock "Centerlline" for whomever lost that spare. If your nice I'll even give you a 33 to do with it. All I can say is wow, someone actually had more carnage than me! Oh and I love that parting shot of Raf hauling that leftover chunk. I have jumpped my rig several times and have never seen anything like that. Anyways If I have any pieces or chunks you need you can have them. Just gotta pay the transportation cost. :D

I thought I'd commented on this before, but I guess I didn't?

But yeah. What a a trip. Damn man, did that thing get more damage from the initial break or the the recovery effort!? I think it was the kind of thing where no matter what you do, you're bound to break something else from there on.

So where's the checklist of everything damaged/destroyed?

But NOOOOOO!
