1992 Tracker Pro Deep V16

I got myself a boat today.

Its a '92 Tracker Deep V16.
with a 60 HP Evendrude outboard.
Before I went ot look at it the guy sent me this picture via e-mail for me to look at it.

I had to go with an aluminum boat due to the fact that they're narrower than the glass boats & the space I have that my buddy Tristan is so cool enough to allow me to store for free in is a narrow spot.
( Basically could fit a car, but then you have no room to open the doors once your in there.

I'll get lots more pics tomorrow when I go to work on it. ( Seems to have some electrical gremlins I must deal with ).

But heres what it looks like as we parked in its new home.

I really like the cover it came with.

Started getting work done on the boat.

Got new straps for the Bimini top.

& had to have the carb's rebuilt. ( $600.00 to rebuild all 3! )
Changed the oil out in the bottom drive unit.

Tomorrow I head out to the local Bass Pros shop to buy all the little stuff I need to get the boat legal for launching into the water.

So far the word BOAT does mean break out another $1000.00.
But thats to be expected when buy an older used boat.

I'll probably spend another $1000.00 before I'm happy with the boat.

That's a fish finder & a trolling motor & the misc. stuff like a new up-graded bilge pump & aerator pump & fuel tank fuel level solinoid, spare bulbs & fuse's etc etc..
I'll need to get more Life vest, anchors as well....

Got my anchors today & also an additional life vest.
Some waterproof flares some bumpers, a 1st aid kit & couldn't resist getting a few lures while I was there.

I almost bought a cool fish finder but could let myself spend that much more money today & I'm also still looking for a trolling motor.

Tomorrow I'll be taking out my fuel & oil tanks to start replacing my Bilge & Aerator pumps..

& getting some more chain & etc...

I decided on the Grappling style anchor, partly due to being able to collapse it & store it away ..

I need an old boat anchor to use as a winching deadman point. Would have come in handy on Sat. when I thought I could go through snow 40" deep.

got one?

Like I ever had any use for an anchor in my life before I got this boat.

In attempts to save money I decided to do my own work on the Project Boat. ( I didn't buy it as a Project but thats whats its become. )

Both me aerator & bilge pumps are bad & so I had to remove the fuel & oil tank to get at them.

Looks simple enough.........

Yeah right.

1st the bilge pump was cover in alot of that Foam they put in tracker boats to keep them from sinking like an anchor & that became a pain in the butt.
I had to dig it all away while laying on wet carpets & my head deep in this compartment that gives you no room to work.
There two tabs your suppose to be able to push in to remove the top of the pump & replace it back into the bottom of the pump screen .
Simple enough when you dont have it sealed with that float foam!

So of course the two parts didn't wanna come apart & of course this was on the side I just could not get a look at..
After messing with it for about 45 minutes, I just tore it out.

I also broke off the plastic tube in the hose & had to dig that out.

It was mounted on a little "L" shaped bracket that of course is riveted in place, so I'll have to dig out the right angle drill to take that off & mount the new one onto.

& Then there's the aerator pump.

The only screw thats easy to remove is the top one.
I got the other one one the left out a 1/4 turn at a time & dont know how I'll get the other one out.
There's no room to use a ratchet & so maybe a tiny screw driver, but theres no room to put your hand around it to turn it.

So I'm off to sears to see what tools they have that might solve this issue.
I guess the lake aint gonna happen tomorrow.

I got both pumps out tonight!
I just had to find the right mini shorty screw driver that fit in there & worked it hard till it came loose.

Here's a better shot of how the foam was covering everything like the hose till I dug it out.

Drilled out the riveted plate it was mounted on...

As you can see the base was also factory riveted in place.

I'll clean this place all up like new before I reinstall anything back to where it belongs.

I'll just fell better knowing its all cleaned up.

Both pumps removed.

I'm not sure I will stay with the attwood pump at this point being I screwed up the factory mount.
This allows me more options...
If I would not of busted the rivets I would of not considered up-grades to another brand.

But I'll stick with the factory aerator because thats still a simple bolt in replacement.

Here's my factory fish finder that I'll be replacing soon.

& my factory 30 lbs thrust Troller.

I'll be swapping to the strongest I csan afford to fit soon enough..

Got the Bilge pump installed today & also got some more chain for the 2nd anchor, as well as some chain/anchor connectors.
Got a bulb for the rear night light.

Took out the battery & have it charging in the garage & also have the trolling motor in the truck now.
Don't know if I wanna have it rebuilt or just buy a new one...?

Replaced the trailer chain so now I have dual chains instead of the single one.
