This thing has some OLD GAS in it & you know it when you start it.
Yet the fuel gauge reads empty, assuming it works Should I just add a bunch of fuel additives & rubbing alcohol to the tank & fill it with Premium fuel & run it through after changing the fuel filters?

Theres no drain plug on the tank that I could find..

In the morning I'll start taking many more pic's & learn a bunch more about what I bought, I've had the car for 24 hours & still have not seen it in the day light!
Maggie says it looks better in the day light than at night & thats exciting!

Cool. So put two clear barrel filters on it, one by the carb for peace of mind, and one by the tank.

Every time the car dies because the rust chokes it out, stop (< not reallya choice there) drop it, reverse blow it, re attach, crank til you have reprimed what you lost doing that, hope that the smell of 87 Octane turns Mags right the FAWK on, and then repeat until tank has cleaned itself out by osmosis. The more you DON"T drive it, the longer that process will take.

Ask me how I know...

This bastard made me walk, lean burn caught the carpet on fire inside the cab, it was a GOOD TIME!

Made me walk alot. every 20 miles, then 30 then 50, you get it. I bet in the 1000 miles i put on it, I blew a filter 40 times.

now...at the stealership I worked at...they pulled a tank from a 77 Rustang II and drained it out. Then put some small rock gravel, shaken not stirred, washed and blew out. No problems when reinstalled. same deal with the fuel filters. Very small $$ outlay to do this just time. must have done a good job at removing old varnished fuel and rust from tank cause it ran quite well afterward.

Ok so today I got my 1st look at it during the day, & I must say I still love this rig.

the paint has more chips than I noticed at night & the wiring seems to look worse than I thought in the day light but, that ok I'm having fun working on it.

A few issue's I'm dealing with...

Why did they cut up the inner fender well's?

& why did they cut out the supports?

Seems to have a quality Disc Brake conversion.

This is what it looked like when I brought it home..

The Interior looks even better in the day light!

After placing the spacer into the coils.

Of course this is just temp thing until I figure out what the best spring will be for this ride.

I love this new toy!

I wonder what this is suppose to look like?

A Before Pic.

Give me some time & I'll post a current picture once I start fixing her up.

I can only guess they cut out the fenderwells/strut towers for access to the engine. V8s in those early unit-body cars are a bitch to work on. Ripped more than a few layers of skin off my hand working on my old 63 Thunderbird. You may want to look into some replacements or bracing as I imagine the front end feels a bit wish-washy especially in the turns.

The engine's far away enough to not be an issue...

I'm still at a loss unless they were planning on putting in a 351W or something like that.
Gonna continue up that strengthening rib from where they cut the tower to the top after bracing the towers with this kit Cam bought:

Gonna come to the point where the crossbars bolt to the top of the tower with some thick-wall tube. That should bring it all together structurally again...
The car's so straight though.
