Exclamation Blanco Bronco

Wow I cant Beleave I've Not even started rebuilding Blanco's Thread!
I got a call this morning asking me about where I posted my pics & I told them to look here thinking I've restarted the thread.. ME> <ME

OK I guess We've got to start over again here as well...

Ok I bought Blanco just under 2 years ago & it was Completely stock .
This pic was right after installing some used ProComp MT's & clear corner lense'es

Then I took it to Azusa & was Hooked!
Heres a pic of my 1st up grade..
I ripped the muffler off & ever since have run with out one..

& no its not too loud.... I actually wish it was louder..
But like this I dont attract the attention of cops.

This is a Pic of my 1st Stuck , & I had NO biz being out there with bald street tires..

& that 1st trip just got me wanting more!
So I went back again!
This Time I had the pro-comps & I would made it , If not for this yellow truck that I did not want to hit!

While being pulled out I was abruptly stop against a undermud obsticle we could not see... ............................

Upon further investgation I found a layed over tree buried in the mud!
The part by my feet banged up against my trans pan while being towed out!

So from there later on i went to go try some obsticles I could'nt do with my bald street tires..
Oh this was much easier once I got Mud Tires!

This was as far as I could get Blanco to climb back then.

Then I tried to Back up..

I'll keep posting more every day for a while Cause I have lot & LOTS of pics of this projects development!

Then I bought a donor rig..

I bought it for its suspension ..
The body & interior was TRASHED but The suspension was worth alot more than I paid for it!

Bilstien 9100 coilovers.

Most of the Suspension was custom Built by Rodd Fantelli .

then I went & did the cheapy K&N intake set up.

So then I went with a suspension swap over keeping both Broncos
All that was good from the donor rig was swapped over to Blanco.
This way I got the AWSOME suspension & kept the Sweet body & interior of blanco..

Cut & bent TTB!
Bilstien 9100's & air bumps front & back with coilovers up front.
& deaver leafs out back.
With a tru-trac up front & detroit out back.

Front coilOver & Airbump mounts

SuperWinch Hubs

So then the CageWork gets started

Here at Rodds Shop.

My Rock Sliders.

Bilstien shock res. mounts.

My radius arms Hiems.

The CoilOvers stinto the engine compartment.

Unfortunitly they get int the way of the Master cylinder..

So that had to be modified.

Here's a pic of where the B hoop connects.

Another pic of my Front Suspension.

I've seen many Broncos with their quarter panels crushed from rocks so I figured I do some preemtive work...

So I wanted to prepare for this.

I drew this up on Paper & Rodd Fantelli made it Happen thats what I love about Him He will build you want ever you want with his input ..

I wanted a Bumper with similar angles to my front Bumper.

& I hated my Factory Bronco Hood bulge so I had AutoFab Build me a Fiberglass Drop Center Hood!

Its the reverse of a Ford Factory hood is.

Then I had a Custom set of Beard seats made for Blanco.

I picked the cloth & the colors & the thread & the styling & the width & the Hight etc etc ..
Like I said COMPLETELY custom.

Those pockets on the back hold my 5 point harness'es

I figured being that Blanco would rolling at higher speeds I should mount the spare in board .. No to mention that mouonting it inboard give better departure angles..

& heres some more Cage pics.

I wanted as much space as posible in the cargo area of Blanco so we did'nt go to the frame out back.

My new rear air bump mounts.

I was somewhat concerned with keeping the Res'es for the Shocks cool & figured Engine heat would not be helping the res temps. so we moved them here.

& the front AIR BUMPS contact here.

My Bumper with an Accusump mounted behind it..

I'll be mounting the same center hitch on Sammy as on this one.

Ok so to deal with The CoilOver Towers getting in the way of the Master Cylinders Rodd built this.

Rock sliders mounted.

I Added Grip tape to it & I'm MUCH HAPPy'er!

Months have gone by at this point & I noticed the Factory 8.8 was bent & had spider web like cracks... So I figured it was time to Up-grade the rear end.

I started thinking about doing a 9"
So I started researching & then found this used 35 spline ARB available.

The guy claimed it was only used twice in a Rock crawling comp. then he got a Detroit sponsorship.

So at this point I commited myself to a 9"

So then after researching this a while I decided on getting a Currie 9"

So heres a few Random pics from Currie.

Heres the smaller Explorer brakes That I did'nt go with due to a full size broncos wieght .

I almost went for one of these but figured its probably way Over kill for what I'll do out there.

Heres curries version of the Strange engineering pumpkin that I bought.

The drain plug that I told the salesman I did'nt want. ( I wont name the salesman)

heres your typical 31 spline axle or the right & the 35 spline axle of the left.

Heres a closer look at where I had cracks along the housing.

Some cool pics from their display room.

Ok I showed up to pick up my 9"

Here were placing it into Blanco.. for the trip home.

Then from there I took blanco straight to 4XDoctors shop here about 5 blocks from my APT.

Rippimg out the old 8.8

Nice jeep.

Dennis has a Nice early Bronco.

I Love Blancos Droop!

These guys have always got some Awsome projects going on there.

Theres that DAMN drain plug I told them I did'nt want..

I had to order a James Duff skid plate due the this DAMN plug that I told Currie I did not want??! Currie> <Me

Deaver leafs with NO blocks.

Due to the Fact that Currie shipped my 9" with the drain plug I did not want I had to compansate for it..
Buy buying a James Duff Skid Plate.

there was some modifications needed to protech the DrainPlug I told Currie I DID NOT WANT!

Now except for losing some ground clearence I've got the best of both worlds if you like changeing your axle oils.
James duff skid plate was the most friendly when it came to adjustabilty & thats why I ordered it, & it worked out great!

I dont think I Mentioned this earlier & I'm running 4:88's up front & 4:86 out back in the 9" they dont make 4:88 for the 9"..
& I've got a slightly hoped up E-4OD & the engine is a completely stock 5.8..

Monday I'll probably order a switch panel so I can hook up the =
OBA
ARB
Front Aux lights
Rear amber
Aux Back up Light
My accusump

& Whatever might come next..
I'm wanting to get a Panel with more sitches than I need so I have room to grow accessory wise..

I'm thinking either a Roll cage mounted one or maybe this one.

I'm hoping I can get it unlabled & that I can make it work for my use's.
This one should fit in where the ashtray goes it measures 3 x 5.75 x 2.5

Then theres this one thats 3.125 x 10.75 x 2.5

That comes in either a Roll cage bar mount or Dash mount.

This one comes with stick on lables ..

If I go with the Bar Mount I'm thinking above the Mirror between the sun visors.

Or maybe I should mount the switch panel in here where the tuffy box is set up for the stereo...

The bummer of doing it that way is that I'd have to keep open the counsel to get to the switchs?

Definitly dont mount them so you have to open the center console...Mount them where its most convient for you to see and control at all times.Put them where the sterieo mounts and relocate the sterieo to a place where the passenger can control. My BTW,im so drunk right now i cant spell sterieo, give me an f'n break!

OK It turns out The Painless web site is a real PAIN in the ass!

The 5 & 3/4 inch wide 8 Switch panel was a miss print!!

SO Now I'm in a hurry to find another set up I'd really like to have 8 switches with-in about an 6 inches wide set up to fit where my broncos factory ash tray fit..

I can use some input peeeps!
I wanna get this switch panel in time to be able to hook up my OBA & ARB etc for the Miller Jeep trail run!

I Guess I could probably make it through the trail without the rear Locked But it would be nice To have it set up by then.....
